After years of travelling around the globe, seeking the most spectacular and often secluded locations, the Donnavventura HQ eventually realized that… there was another great place to visit and report about…just around the corner! So, the expedition caravan set off to on a much shorter route, across the Italian Alps, to reach enchanted Switzerland and discover its magnificent nature and history. Not to mention legendary Swiss icons like, watches, chocolate, mountain pastures and snow-capped beautiful mountains.
The expedition team had a chance to ride the famous red train - the Bernina Express. It climbs up to the glistening glaciers before descending to Italy far below. This rail link between Northern and Southern Europe builds bridges between regions with different languages and cultures.
Some beautiful cities were thus discovered in the process and the travel reporters had the perfect chance to find out everything about the Swiss Confederation: recently restored old fashioned districts, the true passion for skiing and hockey, without forgetting about tasty and irresistible food and delicacies.
Many luxurious SPAs were visited – and ejoyed – as well by the lucky members of the Donnavventura team, heading from Zermatt – at the very foot of the Matterhorn mountain – to Bern and its famous clocktower, the romantic Rose Garden and the futuristic Paul Klee museum.
The team took the time to get to know Swiss cheese bette ras well, travelling across the Emme Valley, where true masterpieces like l’Emmentaler DOP and Gruyère DOP are made.
Then it was time to discover the gothic atmosphere of enchanted Friburg and take glorious shots in snow-covered St. Moritz – such unforgettable, postcard-like landscapes!
Luzern and Lugano were the final stops along the itinerary of this most unique and truly unexpected, wonderful journey.
