






The lively and cosy village of Alagna, in Valsesia, was the venue chosen for the official, final selection event before the forthcoming Donnavventura expedition. Some 100 candidates, who had applied on 16mm.it, at many showroom events and thanks to numberless casting sessions at the Donnavventura HQ in Milan.
At somme 6.500 ft., a state-of-the-art base camp by FERRINO was quickly prepared. Thanks to this market leader brand equipment, everything was ready to thoroughly test and then select the very best perfomers, due to be officially appointed as members of the next Donnavventura expedition.
RICOLA was chosen for the first time as a brand new partner, thus using its official corporate color – yellow – for branding and uniquely identify that year’s Grand Raid. The famous Swiss producer of award-winning candies, lozenges and herbal teas had already been partnered with Donnavventura for a while, but in 2014 became one of the official sponsors of the expedition.
At the end of this intense week of training, 10 “superfinalists” were selected – the very protagonists of the special TV episode of Donnavventura entirely focused on the “Terre del Sesia” (the ecosystem around the Sesia River), covering the numberless striking features of this mountain region, its traditions, its culture and its magnificent landscapes.
During this important selection events, the protagonists of the forthcoming Donnavventura expedition were thus selected: they would soon embark on a fantastic journey along a “stars and stripes” itinerary in the USA, setting off from New York and travelling to Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
